Plain English, and short. If anything here isn't clear, ask us before you contribute rather than after.
No alcohol is involved
No alcohol is purchased, supplied or delivered. “Dram” is our Scottish-themed name for a voluntary contribution — and a nod to DRAM, the memory in a computer. Nothing you pay for here is an alcoholic drink, and nothing will be sent to you.
If you choose to drink alcohol, please drink responsibly.
Contributions are voluntary
A contribution is a gift to the person or project named on the page you contributed from. It is not a purchase, a subscription, an investment, a loan, or a membership.
You are not promised anything in return. No goods, no services, no access, no rewards — unless a specific campaign says so in writing on the page at the time you contribute.
Where the money goes
Your contribution goes to the named creator or project. It is taken directly into their own Stripe account — it does not sit in a PSA Studio account first.
PSA Studio operates the Buy Me a Dram platform and receives a platform fee of 5% of each contribution. Stripe, the payment processor, also charges the creator its own card processing fee. So the creator receives your contribution less those two amounts.
Payments and card details
Payments are processed by Stripe on their own hosted checkout page. Neither PSA Studio nor the creator ever sees or stores your card details.
We keep a record of the contribution itself: which creator, the amount, the Stripe reference, the status, and the time. We do not keep card numbers.
Refunds
Because contributions are voluntary gifts rather than purchases, there is no automatic right to a refund.
That said, mistakes happen — a double-tap, a wrong amount, a change of heart the same day. Contact us and we will pass it to the creator, who holds the payment and can refund it from their own Stripe account. We cannot force a refund on their behalf.
Disputes and chargebacks
You can raise a dispute with your bank or card issuer in the usual way. Because the payment is taken directly by the creator, any dispute is between you, your card issuer and the creator. PSA Studio is not a party to it, though we will help both sides understand what happened.
Tax and charitable status
A contribution is not a charitable donation and is not tax-deductible. Buy Me a Dram is not a charity, and the creators on it are not necessarily charities either. We make no claim about the tax treatment of your contribution. If that matters to you, take your own advice.
Who you are dealing with
Buy Me a Dram is operated by PSA Studio. The creator or project named on the contribution page is a separate party — PSA Studio provides the payment mechanism, not the work you are supporting.
Getting in touch
Email support@psastudio.org. Tell us the creator's name, roughly when you contributed and the amount, and we will find it. Please don't send card details — we don't need them and can't use them.
